"David Bamps, D&G: "Large part of pears still of good quality "

"Good pear export, increasing prices"

According to David Bamps of D&G Fruit the pear market is doing quite well. "Earlier this week it was mentioned, that there were many problems in the area of the sickness Skalt, but the better part of the pears is still of good quality. In any case we have few complaints from our clients. This is because the speed of delivery. The higher the supply speed of delivery the better the quality of the pears is maintained."

"Also it is rather busy on the market and demand is good. This is mainly the result of the cooler weather," he explains. "Also the prices are at a good level and have increased each time during the last few weeks. The price of the 65AA-pears is
65 cents and that is a good price for mid quality." According to him prices could increase a bit more. "Slowly there is less supply and the export is doing well. This can only improve."

D&G Fruit is exclusive distributor of Evelina apples. The demand for these apples
increases each year and also the volumes increase," the entrepreneur tells. "About six weeks ago these apples were sold out. Normally we supply Evelina all year round, but because of the hail last year a large part of the harvest was lost. This year we expect again sufficient to supply our clients."
