Gary Bertone has been hired by California Giant Berry Farms as the Logistics Manager, a newly created position. His primary role will be to manage all prepaid freight for California Giant customers, track daily freight rates and negotiate rates with carriers.
As the company continues to expand, this position serves as a vital resource to the sales team allowing them to hand off this portion of the business to a staff member dedicated to specifically managing logistics for the company.
Gary Bertone is a veteran in the industry and has expertise in working with carriers on a national basis and will focus on ensuring best rates and carriers for the company. Previously Gary worked for Champ Logistics and Capurro Marketing in a similar capacity and has been in the produce industry for 33 years. "I am truly excited to be part of this team and working with friends here in my home town. I look forward to building this program into a profitable position for the company," says Gary.
