Spain: Stone fruit harvest estimate similar to 2011

According to predictions by the Agricultural Food Cooperatives, the production of peach, plum and nectarine will drop, while the apricot production will rise considerably.

European organizations made their predictions for Summer Fruit harvests know at Europech, which took place at Medfel 2012.

The data presented by the Spanish cooperatives regarding this Summer fruit, gave a prediction of 1,415,150 tons, a number quite similar the harvest from the last campaign, of 1,415,563 tons. To underline the fact that, due mainly to weather conditions during Winter and the beginning of Spring, practically every producing region had trouble in making a harvest prediction.
