US: Intelleflex announces partnership with Deltatrak
Under the terms of the agreement, DeltaTRAK will offer XC3 Technology-based fixed, cellular and handheld readers and TMT-8500 temperature monitoring tags to customers throughout the world. DeltaTRAK will also incorporate Intelleflex’s recently announced ZEST Data Services into its solution offerings. The addition of these new products will further enable DeltaTRAK to provide the most comprehensive suite of environmental-monitoring solutions available in the market.
Having actionable data available about the temperature and condition of products, on demand, is critical for improving operations and minimizing losses throughout the global supply chain. Each year over $35 billion worth of food is lost due to waste and shrink in the supply chain, with half of that amount attributed to temperature management issues. Temperature issues also play a huge role in the pharmaceutical supply chain, with an estimated value of $5.4 billion in losses of perishable pharmaceuticals annually. Comprehensive temperature monitoring and management solutions can help minimize these losses, making more food available for sale and helping to ensure the efficacy and quality of temperature-sensitive pharmaceuticals.
"The importance of food safety, brand protection, and compliance with new and future regulations has never been greater than it is today," said Frederick Wu, president and CEO of DeltaTRAK. "The partnership of DeltaTRAK and Intelleflex makes it possible for us to integrate modern XC3 Technology RFID products into DeltaTRAK’s applications and solutions for our customers."
XC3 Technology-based readers and tags support both the ISO/IEC 18000-6:2010 standard for Class 3 battery-assisted passive RFID and the EPCglobal C1G2 standard for passive RFID, and are distinguished for their ability to reliably read and write in RF-unfriendly environments, including through metals or liquids, or with items in motion. The products enable condition monitoring of individual products on loaded pallets or totes from a range of up to 300 feet and can penetrate packaging, allowing operators to make informed decisions on product shipment, inventory and rotation that can reduce shrink in perishable foods and guarantee efficacy of pharmaceuticals.
"Providing customers with actionable data about the condition of their products as they move through the supply chain is critical to improving decision making that reduces waste and ensures the delivered quality and safety of temperature- sensitive products," said Peter Mehring, president and CEO of Intelleflex. "The partnership with DeltaTRAK, an industry leader with over 22 years of experience utilizing advanced technology to successfully address their customers’ business requirements, validates the value of XC3 Technology-enabled solutions for improving cold chain operations."
