Brazil: Montecitrus raised income in 334% in 2011

Montecitrus Trading, one of the biggest orange producers in Brazil, processing and delivering orange juice to Citrovita, reported a net profit of $37.53 million in 2011, a 333.9% growth by comparison with the $8.65 millions in 2010, according to a company balance sheet, published last Thursday in the "Diario Oficial" of São Paulo.

In 2011, the company, placed in Monte Azul Paulista, registered a brute income of R$247.59 million, an 11.6% growth over the result of 2010 (R$221.85 millions). The operational benefit for Montecitrus goes from R$11.28 millions to R$36.8 millions between these periods, a 226.24% growth, thanks to the growth of the so called patrimonial equity, meaning, two investments or positive results in the other company societies, included in the balance as operational income. With it, the benefit before rent tax and social contribution grew 214.36% between 2010 and 2011 (some R$38.32 millions).
