Banana and cocoa are the products which exporting amounts to Europe grew in the last eight years, presenting now a number above 700 million Euro, due to a strengthening of international relations, as assured yesterday by the minister of External Relations, Carlos Morales Troncoso and the director for the Exporting and Investment Center of Dominican Republic (EIC-DR), Eddy Martínez.

On his side, the director of EIC-DR pointed out that during the last eight years, foreign investment attracted more than 2,500 million Dollars, in comparison to the period 2000-2004 (700 million Dollars per year).

Regarding exports, he assured that in 2011, the Dominican Republic got more than 8,000 million Dollars, "adding 1,200 million Dollar to the total exports and in 2012, the projection is to reach 10,000 million Dollars", pointed Martínez.
