At the moment the supply of mushrooms is tight. "Before Easter the demand for mushrooms was super and this week it is just about the same" Tonny Hooijmans of Oke Trading from Velddriel, Holland says. "The demand is also very wide from all markets and channels."
"Last week and this week the demand for white mushrooms especially was very good, but also the demand for chestnuts is at a good level. The oyster mushrooms are selling reasonably and also the Asian mushrooms are suffering from a limited supply, which again results in a good price level" Tonny concludes.
