expected increase 25% next season

Peru: Grape exports grow 47%

Grape exports this season increased 47% over the 2010-2011 season, about 135,000 tonnes were sold in international markets compared to the 92,000 tonnes that were exported in the previous season.

In this regard, the president of Inform@cción, Fernando Cillóniz, welcomed the results and estimated that in the next campaign they will achieve a growth of 25%, although, he said that in reality an even greater increase could be predicted.

He noted that the markets which targeted with higher exports of grapes are very balanced. The United States, Europe and China are our main buyers with 30% each, England and Russia being our largest customers in Europe.
