US (CA): Kiwi 2011/12 crop update

State inventory numbers show that the total marketable crop should end up between 9.0 and 9.3 million 7-pound tray equivalents, or approximately 3.3 million volume fill equivalents. As of March 24th, 7.5 million tray equivalents have been shipped, representing over 80% of the crop. Domestic shipments to date represent approximately 77% of the crop, followed by Mexico at 16% and Canada at 4%.
 
KAC weekly price-shipment report
Shown below is the KAC Price-Shipment report for the week ending March 24, 2012. For those not familiar with the weekly price-shipment report it represents shipments made by large conventional handlers (no organic) who ship 100,000 tray equivalents or more per season. The report represents approximately 85% of the total shipments made to the domestic market.
