"NL: "Fun contact with other Agri Ladies on twitter"

Annet Kalter and her husband Richard run the strawberry nursery Kalteraardbeien in Ijselmuiden (The Netherlands). Annet still has time for social media. "When I posted on twitter that we were busy with a geothermal project, straight away I had a interested trading company on the phone."

Twitter: @kalteraardbeien (2185 tweets, 422 following, 764 followers)

One evening Kalter was twittering with her fellow strawberry growers Marcel Dings (@Dingsaardbeien), Rob Luysterburg (@RobLuisterburg) and Jan Robben (@JanRobben) about their summer crop, when they decided that they could share all their strawberry facts with the consumer. An offline brainstorming session followed, and that's how the account @aardbeiweetjes was born, which is presently being followed by about 400 consumers.

Contact with other ladies in the fruit and veg trade.

"For me the best thing of all is talking to other agricultural woman. Thats how I got in touch with Marieke Tas (@MariekeTas), the wife of the paprika grower, Ad van der Kleij (@advanderKleij) who processes peppers into jam, sauces etc.", says Annet. It does take some time, but it gives you more experience."
