Week 11

Chile: Table grape, plum, apple and kiwi harvest report

Table Grapes: Despite the fact that Crimson Seedless harvest is at its peak, between the regions of Valparaiso and the Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins, the collection moves with greater ease than desired, due to the slowness with which this variety would be taking colour.

Plums: This week drew the biggest volumes of the Roysum variety both in the metropolitan area as the O'Higgins, which showed good quality and condition, with slightly lower calibres compared to the previous season; concentrated in the 80 and 90 series.

Apples: The Granny Smith harvest progresses rapidly in Chile. At the end of week 11, an advance of close to 60% was recorded in the regions of Libertador Bernardo O'Higgins and Maule. Quality and condition according to what is expected, with high percentage of sunburn and fruit with a yellowish colour in the field, which is similar to the previous campaign's percentage.

Kiwis: To date, we have sent 3,044 tons of Chilean kiwifruit to key target markets, 36% less than what was sent in the same period of last season. Hayward is the main variety with the biggest market share, about 1,903 tons, which is 46% less compared to previous season.
