Peru: Road blocks are affecting avocado exports

On the morning of the 21st of March, after 24 hours, traffic was restored on the road Panamericana Norte, by Carrizales' bridge in the Ancash city of Casma. This road was taken by over two thousand informal miners. Before midnight on Monday, the protesters agreed to a truce of three hours for hundreds
of vehicles that were stranded in both ends of the track to continue their travel, however, when the time ran out they could no longer continue the disruption, informed RPP Noticias.

This blockade directly affected Peruvian avocado exporters, who must transport their goods on this road to get the fruit from the fields to the packing stations. This was the case of FCE EXPORT SAC which has been affected by the road blocks and has had delays in complying with their programs.
