Germany: Potato processing turnover increases hugely

The turnover of potato processing companies has increased a lot in the past few years - 8.4%. The potatoes were more cheaply available in the second half of the year. This rise in price will be visible in the potato processing figures.

The exact figures in this category are not known at the moment. The turnover mentioned below also contains other products besides potato products, when a company also processes vegetables as well as potatoes. So far the total turnover of 1.658 billion Euro in the past year is higher than when the exact figures on the potato processing industry will be published later on.

The turnover mainly increased in the months November and December. Despite the lower potato prices the turnover in the second half of the year was 0.84 billion Euro higher than in the first half of the year (0.817 billion Euro.)
