Glamour cherries: the most expensive cherries in the world
"Spain: The "Cherries Glamour" season has started"
The Spanish company Sat Edoa has started, for the seventh time in a row, their cherry "Cherries Glamour" harvest, recognized as the world's most expensive cherries.
"One more year, and this will already be number seven, cherries "Cherries Glamour", their Unique world season started this week, this year despite the low temperatures of winter. "Cherries Glamour" comply with their regular-season start dates." says Oscar Ortiz, marketing manager of Sat Edoa.
In 2000, the company started the project for the production of the cherry "Cherries Glamour". It should be noted that during 2011, this Spanish company obtained the patent system to produce cherries in greenhouses. Ortiz says the project is based on getting a productive period and commercial space located between the time that it is produced between the two hemispheres (from March 15th to April 25th) and in obtaining an excellent level of flavor, color, brightness, hardness and sugar.
Although the weather is harsh, the production of "Cherries Glamour" from Sat Edoa was not significantly affected due to greenhouse production, where optimal weather parameters have been established throughout its ripening process.
The price of "Cherries Glamour", given its world exclusivity, is quite high, to the point of being considered as the world's most expensive cherry. "We have been increasing prices as the years have passed, until 2 years ago, when we saw that the price was right for this project, as it is in this season. This means that depending on the size and presentation format, the price per kilo can range from 30€ to 120€/kilo." concludes the commercial director of Sat Edoa.
