South African grape packing winding down

The last volumes of Crimson Seedless and Autumn Royal are being packed in the Olifants River Region. The quality is still very good with yields per hectare better than in the previous season. It is expected that only 2 producers will still be packing during Week 9.

In the Berg River Region, the northern part of the region (Piketberg Saron) is packing mostly Crimson Seedless and Autumn Royal, and it is expected that some producers in these areas will end packing towards the end of Week 9. In the southern part of the region, late mid-season cultivars are being packed, such as Redglobe, Crimson Seedless, Bonheur and La Rochelle. According to SATGI, the quality is still excellent and the weather forecast for the coming week is favourable for harvesting.

Meanwhile in the Hex River Valley Region mid season cultivars are still being packed with especially high volumes of Crimson Seedless, Autumn Royal, La Rochelle and Red Globe. The packing tempo is high as all these cultivars are ripening at the same time. The quality is very goo.
