Spain: Oranges and tomatoes are most marketed products

127.6 million kilos of tomatoes and 166.2 of oranges, made these products the most traded in 2011 at the Fruit and Vegetable Market Mercamadrid, as reported by this organization through its newsletter, consulted by the Europa Press.

As far as vegetables are concerned, tomatoes are leading the ranking, followed by lettuce (59.7 million), onions (45.6), peppers (39.3), carrots (35.5), cauliflower (17.4), green beans (16.9), leeks (16.1), sprouts/cabbages (15.4) and courgettes (15.1).

The list of fruits, after oranges, we have bananas leading (72.2), then apples (70.6), peaches (47.3), pears (44.5), melons (42.1), watermelons (30.9), kiwis (25.4), lemons (23.4) and pineapples (22.2).
