Peru: Spain is one of the best destinations for agro-exports

Spain is the third destination for Peruvian agro-exports in Europe and takes the fourth place in the general ranking, after US, Germany and the Netherlands.
It also had a 6.6% participation in total exports of the sector for the period between January and November 2011 (the most up to date information), according to the Ministry of Agriculture (MINAG)

The main exports were: small pepper (16.9%), fresh or dry avocado (14.2%), whole paprika (13%), prepared or canned non-frost asparagus (12.9%) and artichoke (8.2%); which represented a variation of 40.9%, 39.9%, 55.9%, 13.3% and 31.9%, respectively.

According to a note from the Managing of Economic Studies from the Exporters Association (ADEX), in the Spanish market there's a wide potential for agricultural products (fresh and canned asparagus, mango, fresh grape, custard apple, artichoke and avocado).
