"reasonably optimistic about the season"

Kompany back in the market with Dutch cucumbers

The first Dutch company have supplied to Kompany. Kompany's cucumber area this year is around 250 hectares, of which around 8 is artificially lit cultivation. "These growers are later than usual this year, but the natural light growers are starting production next week. So I expect to receive more volume soon", says a Kompany spokesperson.

"Spain has a lot of older crops. A lot of how the production will go depends on the temperature, but the supply in Spain is far behind that of last year. This makes me reasonably optimistic for the coming half year. And I really hope that cucumber growers realise a bonus again, because otherwise it will be a hard time for many cucumber growers again."
