Wim Geurts warns:

"Fruit Logistica stall holder: watch out for 'FAIRGuide'"

In preparation of the Fruit Logistica many stall holders and fruit and vegetable companies are receiving a letter in the post from a company called FAIRGuide. This company offers 'free' services to companies to be admitted into a database with the goal of creating a higher profile. Wim Geurts, fruit and vegetable recruiter of Lutgo indicates that the experiences with this company are very varied. "People assume that signing this document and sending a business card is free, but it is most certainly not. In the small print at the bottom of the document is that it starts a contract of 3 years for.........€1271.00 per year."

"Our experience is that you don't get much for this, besides a mention in a, for the AGF, unknown directory." Wim Geurts indicates that it's important to read what the document says properly and to consider whether the large amount that is demanded is worth it. "Experience shows that the company isn't afraid to take legal action if payments aren't made."
