Duplication of the number of members in the anniversary year

Excellent party at 10 year old FresQ

When it first started in 2001 FresQ had 76, and now on their tenth anniversary, they have 155 members. They went from 257 hectares to 1400 hectares and from a turnover of €130 million to an expected €700 million in 2012. Tom de Bruijn, the chairman of FresQ says: "In 2012 we realise that a contribution can be expected from FresQ, which fits its new position. More than ever, besides the importance of our own members, is the importance of the greenhouse vegetable sector as a whole."

The chairman said this during the festive anniversary meeting last Saturday, held in celebration of the 10th anniversary of FresQ. A fantastic ballroom had been built in the hall of FresQ Red Star - obviously in the company colour orange. For decoration the FresQ members products were incorporated into beautiful decorative vegetables pieces and three dimensional paintings.

The last speaker was Theo Koning of Frankort & Koning, with an exposition of his company and the collaboration with FresQ.

In the evening the ballroom became the stage for a smashing anniversary party for the FresQ members and all employees and their partners, all the cooperation employees as well as those of the six sales subsidiaries . The only formal moment was the short speech by general manager Jan de Boer. He reminded those present of the recent developments within the company and the consequences for all those present and concluded with the words that together we have "a goldmine in our hands."

Sales organisation FresQ is the largest greenhouse vegetable cooperation in Holland. FresQ main office is in De Lier and it has six sales subsidiaries. With 155 members it has over 1400 hectares and a wide variety of greenhouse vegetables such as tomatoes, peppers, aubergines and cucumbers. In a progressive manner FresQ gives substance to production, packaging and the sales of the production. Together the 79 members who joined FresQ in 2011 had a turnover for the year of € 445 million. The control of the sales lies with FresQ. Through the sales subsidiaries FresQ controls various market segments and groups optimally.
