Letter of intention to cooperation signed

Dutch pepper companies research joint sales

Pamosa and PaprikaNL, two Dutch pepper companies, have signed a letter of intention. "We're going to investigate whether we can organise the sales together, but it's still very premature. We will just investigate the possibilities", says chairman Rutger Lommerse of Pamosa.

The growers of PO PaprikaNL have over 294 ha of peppers. This is a small 25% of the total Dutch pepper area, divided among cultivation areas throughout the country. The PaprikaNL growers switched from Coforta to FresQ this year. Within PaprikaNL 85% of the pepper growers (and the area) of FresQ freshconnect are combined.

Pamosa has forty pepper growers, with a joint area of 240 hectares. The sales of the peppers of the Pamosa members is taken care of by ZON fruit & vegetables. "We have two groups at the table, who can make a difference", concludes Lommerse.
