Fruit from a bottle: Innocent plans for healthy growth in 2012
Smoothies, cold drinks prepared from mixed fruit, became more and more popular during the last few years. For the company Innocent Alps, producer of smoothies,
this trend was of the utmost importance. The turnover of the company, which is based in Salzburg, increased in 2011 from 7.9 million Euro to 13.5 million Euro. The European marketing manager of the company, Franz Bruckner, wants further growth in 2012.
However, the start of Innocent Alps was not without challenges. The company was started in 2008 and at that time hardly anybody in Austria was aware of smoothies. The company is of course very happy with their present success. The product supply to Germany will be increased during the coming weeks. In addition to smoothies high value cooled fruit juices will be sold under the label Innocent. Furthermore a child smoothie has been planned by the holding company in Great Britain, which has already proven to be very successful.
Innocent is market leader in Austria and Switzerland in the area of smoothies. In Germany the market share is 28% currently. In 2006 the European consumer spent 1.6 million Euro on smoothies. In 2011 this amount had increased significantly to
