US (CA): New organic lemon under Tule Specialty label

Homegrown Organic Farms recently acquired organic lemon ranch located in the hillside microclimate of North San Diego County, California. The company's owners and growers John France and Tom Avinelis will be implementing all farming and management operations for the new ranch effective immediately. "The addition of organic lemons to the Homegrown Organic Farms’ offering makes them a “one-stop-shop” for a full line of premium organic California citrus", says Scott Mabs of Homegrown Organic Farms.

The lemons will be packed in the Tule Specialty label. Harvesting will begin immediately and the company will continue on a year-round basis with some fluctuations in volume depending on the time of year. “We are very excited about this new lemon ranch. The location and quality of the trees are going to make this ranch well-known in the organic marketplace", continues Scott.

Tom Avinelis stated, “For Homegrown, it has always been about the farming and that is why we acquired this property. We needed lemons in our offering on a year-round basis to fill out our citrus program and this ranch acquisition is a perfect fit. The new lemon ranch will provide a foundational volume for building programs to fill current customer demand for lemons. The microclimate and remote location is proving to produce lemons of exceptional quality."
