Tomato grower Ben van den Berg of A&B Kwekerijen:

"Strong and vital plants with Pentakeep"

Ben van den Berg of A&B Kwekerijen from Berkel en Rodenrijs has been adding Pentakeep to Japanese manure. The grower had had some experience with Pentakeep at his previous company, where he grew peppers. Ben is enthusiastic about the effect of Pentakeep and is also using the Pentagrow wound paste for the first time. "Next season we will definitely use both again", is the growers conclusion.

"By dripping Pentakeep into the tomato beds, the plants grow quicker and are more vital", says Ben, who grows tomatoes on an area of 4.5 hectares. Ben starts using Pentakeep when the fifth bunch flowers. "This is when it becomes more difficult for the plant. By administering Pentakeep, the tomatoes become more coarse and you can strain the plants more. The tomatoes are shinier, have a higher brix and therefore a better taste."

"We have strong and vital plants all year and a plant that's vital, can produce", is the conclusion of the tomato grower, who administers half a litre of Pentakeep per acre once a week, straight to the watering system. The first time Ben used red iron to test how much water (shots of 100ml) to get Pentakeep to the plant. After this he installed a water break, so that the plants can absorb Pentakeep and the fertiliser isn't immediately flushed away.

The experience that Ben had, in peppers too, with Pentakeep was that he realised a higher production, a better quality and an even growth, during which the plants are more balanced. "It was no longer necessary to add root stimulants, because Pentakeep also gives you better roots."

Since June 2011 Ben has also been using the Pentagrow wound paste, to his satisfaction. "By responding quickly and treating the wounds well with paste, I've had nearly no plant drop out. Pentagrow wound paste is an organic product, so every employee can use it. 'Last but not least' it's cheaper than other remedies", concludes Ben.
