Italy: Truck drivers strike causes serious troubles for the Ribera orange

At the height of the marketing campaign, serious troubles have been recorded for the orange of Ribera, due to the truck drivers strike occurring in Sicily (see previous news).

"We run the risk that the big retail will look for other suppliers from different parts of Europe. A gift to foreign competitors, but above all a lethal blow for Sicilian agriculture" Consorzio di tutela Arancia Ribera di Sicilia DOP says.

"Logistics of goods and distribution of our products is an important issue to be faced up to recovering the economy in Sicily. Our wish is that politicians and institutions can meet the requests of truck drivers quickly".
