Informations-Gesellschaft (AMI) has declared that pomegranates especially in the months of October, November and December are sold with sometimes extension to September and January.
The quantity of pomegranates bought by German consumers has shown an increasing tendency for a number of years, according to AMI research. With that pomegranates belong to the most important fruit varieties, the selling volumes and buyers range of which are still increasing.
Also in 2011 the quantities sold reached record volumes. In the period from January to November consumers bought 24% more pomegranates than during the same period in 2010. With an average price of 2.05 Euro/kg pomegranates were even cheaper during the first eleven months of 2011 than in the same period in 2010.
