Singapore is world's largest importer of Korean strawberries

Move aside kimchi and K-pop idols. Korea is now making an impact on Singapore with its sweet and juicy strawberries instead. Export figures hit a record-high of 1,502 tonnes worth US$11.2 million (S$14.5 million) last year, according to the Korea Agro-Trade Centre Singapore, which makes Singapore the largest importer of Korean strawberries, surpassing the likes of Hong Kong, Japan and Malaysia.

Korean strawberries are characterised by their standard conic shape, bright red colour and glossy surface. But what's the secret behind their sweet flavour? To find out, RazorTV took a road trip to Jinju city in South Gyeongsang Province, a city famous for its natural scenery, traditional Korean bull fighting, raw beef bibimbap, silk industry and, of course, strawberries.
