Utah Ag Department seeks grant proposals for specialty crops
The Utah Department of Agriculture and Food is seeking grant proposals for projects designed to increase production and availability of fruits and vegetables, and other specialty crops in Utah.
Grant proposals for a portion of the $275,000 available are due by Friday, May 5.
The federally funded Specialty Crop Block Grant program is designed to enhance the competitiveness of specialty crop producers in areas such as marketing, promotion, education, research, trade, and increasing child and adult nutrition knowledge and consumption of specialty crops.
Individual producers, producer groups, organizations and associations, as well as state and local organizations, academia and others are eligible to apply. Each project must demonstrate measurable benefits for the specialty crop industry and must assist more than just a single producer, organization or company.
