Sun World Innovations grants license to CA grower

Sun World Innovations, the fruit breeding, technology and licensing business unit within Sun World International has licensed Coachella Valley based Richard Bagdasarian, Inc. to grow and market its line of proprietary table grapes, SunWorld Innovations President David Marguleas said. Bagdasarian grows, packs, ships and markets conventional and organic California table grapes and citrus and is the third company appointed by Sun World this year to grow and market its grape varieties and to use its brands in the marketplace.

Bagdasarian joins 60 other licensees around the world who market Sun World fruit varieties. His farm plans to complement well Sun World’s own Coachella Valley production and help to address the companies long term goal of meeting growing consumer needs throughout the whole year, rather than seasonally.

Bagdasarian will begin planting Sun World’s varieties in the coming months with initial commercial volumes expected in 2018. Fruit will be offered under the Sun World brand, or under Bagdasarian’s “Mr.Grape” brand with a co-branded product seal identifying the Sun World variety.
