Mango and avocado supplier doubles cooler space in Nogales

Freska Produce International, a market leader in mangos and avocados, announces that it is nearing completion of is new expansion effort in Nogales, Arizona to increase its cooling space.

According to Jesus “Chuy” Loza, "our increase in volume over the past few years has forced us to expand to be able to take on our growth now and into the future. Having this new expansion allows us to keep our operations under one roof which will make our food safety and product freshness first class". Further Loza noted, “this is a very important step for our overall control of our product and getting it to our customers as fresh and safe as possible”.

Freska broke ground on this expansion in July 2016 to double the size of it now existing cooler in Nogales, Arizona. Freska had to outsource cooling in previous years with other local coolers, but with this expansion it will be able to handle all volume under one roof. This allows the company to keep all its cold chain and food safety intact and under its control. Construction is slated to finish up in time for the Mexican Mango season, which will start up in February 2017.
