Kanzi® apples meeting high demand

Kanzi® apples is looking forward to their best season to date for their apples. The apples being among the fastest selling new apples recently to land on shelves marks good news for supermarkets.

According to Steve Lutz, Vice President of Marketing for CMI, "consumer demand for Kanzi® solidified last season launching sales of the apple to record levels. “Kanzi® sales skyrocketed last season, jumping by over 92%.”

The last few years growers have reacted to the strong demand for Kanzi® apples by increasing acreage and upping production which has opened new opportunities for interested retailers according to Steve Castleman, Senior VP of Sales for CMI Orchards.

Lutz stated that the strong season for Kanzi® starts in the winter when the supply of apples becomes scarce forcing supermarkets to place other produce in their place.

Castleman has high hopes for Kanzi® apples stating “I fully expect Kanzi® will be in more than 7,000 stores nationally shortly after the first of the year.”
and also remarking on the size saying, “Retailers know that sales of jumbo-sized fruit peak from mid-December to the end of January. For the first time we’re able to offer retailers hot promotions on Kanzi® featuring size 48 and 56 apples.”

According to CMI supplies for their apples are available now until the season ends in April from the Southern hemisphere.
