America voted, the results are in, and farmers are feeling pretty good about the election of Donald J. Trump.
A Farm Journal Pulse poll on Nov. 16 asked farmers: "Now that the 2016 elections have concluded, how do you feel about the future of U.S. agriculture and your farm?" Nearly 1,400 respondents weighed in, and their optimism is evident.
More than half of respondents are either "very" or "somewhat" optimistic, with another 20% claiming neutrality for now. That leaves little room for pessimism, with the remaining 17% feeling "somewhat" or "very" pessimistic.
The 2016 elections brought mixed results. The Republicans captured control of the presidency and both houses of Congress, while Democrats fought to take a net gain of seats in both the U.S. House of Representatives and the Senate.
