Preferential access to Japan and Russia for Brazilian products

The Government of Japan and the Eurasian Economic Union have confirmed the granting of preferential access to certain products of Brazilian origin through the Generalized System of Preferences (GSP).

In Japan, 3,478 products are eligible to enjoy this preferential tariff, which in some cases reaches 100% of the country's import tax, as stated by the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services (MDIC).

Meanwhile, the Eurasian Economic Union, specifically Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan, allows reductions of up to 25% of import taxes for 3,725 tariff lines.

"In both cases, the goods must have proven to be of Brazilian origin by means of a Form A Certificate of Origin," warned the MDIC.
