Plum cultivation in Uzbekistan is demonstrating promising growth in exports, as evidenced by the latest statistical data.
According to official data provided by the Statistical Agency, from January to May 2023, the country successfully shipped 3.5 thousand tons of plums to international markets, which is equivalent to a value of 1.6 million US dollars. This represents a 52.1% increase compared to the same period of the previous year.
This significant achievement demonstrates the resilience of the Uzbek plum production sector. Plum exports have increased by 1.3 thousand tons compared to the corresponding period last year.
Kazakhstan maintains its status as the main recipient of Uzbek plum exports. In the first five months of 2023, Uzbekistan exported 2.1 thousand tons of plums to Kazakhstan.
