Last year, the Alsace strawberry season started in April but this year, it has only just been launched.
The interprofessional of Alsace fruit and vegetables has indeed launched the beginning of the strawberry campaign during an event, gathering strawberry producers and professionals at Fraisiland, in the presence of Delphine Wespiser, ambassador of the producers of Alsace Fruit and Vegetables.
“It is firm, juicy and sweet. It has had the time to get nicely ripe. The temperatures are not too high and the fruit was able to ripen slowly,” explains Thierry Peterschmitt of Fraisiland, based in Rustenhard (Haut-Rhin).
