The Cuna de Platero cooperative has started marketing its first own blueberry variety: Cupla. For this year, the production is estimated at 500,000 kilos.

This variety is the result of the work carried out by the Cuna de Platero R&D+i department in recent years. As explained by its manager, Juan Carlos García, "it is a plant adapted to the agroclimatic characteristics of Huelva." The cooperative's research work has resulted in a variety that reaches sizes L and XL, and which has a very good shelf life.
The Cupla is a blueberry with a productive cycle that lasts from December to the end of April, with the peak in productivity reached from mid-January to mid-March. The fruit grows along the entire branch of the blueberry bush, making it easy to pick. Moreover, it is a very juicy variety with a sweet taste.

There is active R+D+i in all links of the company, from field to the warehouse. The Cuna de Platero R&D+i department was created in 2016 so that innovation could play a leading role in all of the entity's departments and processes.
