Supermarket Sales Data – British apples

Tesco bought 4,191 tonnes of British apples in March 2024

Every month, data is collated from British Apple & Pear growers on the quantity of British apples they sold to UK supermarkets. The latest data is below.

4,191 tonnes of British apples were sold to Aldi by BAPL growers in March 2024, with Tesco coming in a close second at 3,973 tonnes.

Here's the same monthly data presented as a percentage of all British apples sold, by supermarkets (green line). The red line is a comparison data point of the grocery market share for that supermarket. We would expect the share of British apples sold to be about the same as the supermarket's grocery market share, but some are doing much better than others.
