Maritime transport, the second most utilized method, was responsible for moving 471,465 tons, or 4.1% of the exports. This marks a decrease from the 724,196 tons shipped by sea in 2019, which then constituted 5.3% of the total exports of 13.6 million tons. Additionally, 2023 saw 10,373 tons of fresh fruits and vegetables exported by rail and 10,650 tons by air, alongside 2,340 tons shipped via postal services. These figures were compiled from data provided by the Department of Customs and Excise and analyzed by the Spanish Federation of Associations of Producers and Exporters of Fruits, Vegetables, Flowers and Live Plants (FEPEX).
