Leonardo Carrasso: "Four times faster than manual work"

Inquiries for battery-powered thinners also from the United States and Chile

"This is the fourth year since the launch of the ARVIPO AF100 cordless radiator and at each end of the campaign the number of units sold is always higher than the previous one. We started the new sales season about a month ago and so far we have distributed hundreds of radiators not only in Italy but also in the rest of Europe. We have even received orders from the United States (from Oregon for apples, for example) and from Chile (from many areas where cherries are grown)", says Leonardo Carrasso, owner of Cormaf Srl, exclusive distributor of l'Italia dell'attrezzo, known for its lightness, practicality and low noise.

Thinning is the process of removing 20-50% of the current season's blossoms without using chemicals and not just manually.

"Excessive flowering of both pome and stone fruit has a negative impact on the size, appearance and also the organoleptic quality of not only the fruit production of the current season, but also that of the following season," adds Carrasso. "One of the problems we often see is that the branches tend to break due to overweight. To avoid this, it is therefore necessary to check the number of fruits before they start growing. This year, several orchards in Emilia-Romagna, Calabria, Puglia and Sicily have opted for this equipment."

CORMAF offers growers an innovative and easy-to-use solution: the Arvipo Af100 thinner, available in two versions, cylindrical and round tip, each adapted to the typical architecture of the different fruit trees, thus allowing controlled removal of excess flowers and fruit from the plants.

"Thanks to its compatibility with telescopic poles (which can also be used for Arvipo pruning shears), even the highest points can be easily reached, making it ideal even for crops with plants that have grown to a height of more than 2.5 m. The ARVIPO AF100 battery pruning shear maximises yields, improves production and allows significant savings in manpower costs, which are already hard to come by in this day and age. Workforce costs have risen particularly in the last two years as seasonal workers have also demanded an increase in their wages to cope with the higher cost of living. With the ARVIPO AF100, the speed of thinning is quadrupled compared to manual thinning. Damage to the shoots is minimized."
