Israel projected to harvest approximately 250,000 tons of avocados in 2024, up from 140,000- 150,000 tons the year before. Of this production, 55% was destined for domestic consumption.
The increase seems to defy the war in Gaza and the difficulties in farming in certain areas, according to the Agriculture Ministry. The previous record stood at about 210,000 tons of avocados in 2022.
