An giang's mangoes make their way to South Korea

In a significant stride for agricultural collaboration, An Giang province in the Mekong Delta exported its first 13 tonnes of mangoes to the Republic of Korea on February 19. This inaugural shipment, under the auspices of a contract between the GAP Cu Lao Gieng Cooperative and Hoang Phat Fruit Ltd. Co., marks a pivotal moment in linking mango production with consumption within a value chain framework.

At the export ceremony, Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, Vice Chairman of An Giang's provincial People’s Committee, highlighted the decade-long journey to meet the stringent standards of international markets like the US, Australia, and the RoK. Thuy emphasized, "This is also a turning point for the local agricultural sector, helping bring about economic opportunities while bolstering the image and reputation of the district’s agricultural products in the international market."

With over 12,000 hectares dedicated to mango cultivation, Cho Moi district leads with 6,400 hectares, including more than 704 hectares meeting VietGAP standards. The district boasts 41 planting area codes for mango export to high-demand destinations such as China, RoK, Japan, Australia, and the US.
