Approximately 400 exhibitors and 16,000 visitors in Southern Poland

"TSW has evolved into the most important fruit trade fair in Eastern Europe"

As part of the TSW, the international fruit growing industry met on January 17th and 18th in Kielce, southern Poland. About 400 exhibitors from Poland and the rest of Europe, as well as around 16,000 visitors, attended the most important event in the Polish fruit industry. Exhibitors from several countries spoke about this year's edition and the development of Polish and Eastern European fruit production.

'Most important fruit trade fair in Eastern Europe'
The first day of the fair was particularly well attended, says Jakob Fausboell from the German industry supplier VOEN Vöhringer. The internationally active company develops and distributes protection solutions for commercial fruit growing and has been a regular exhibitor at the TSW for many years. "We had not just Polish, but also Lithuanian and Ukrainian visitors at our stand. These included both regular customers and potential new customers. It is clear that the TSW has developed into the most important fruit trade fair in Poland and the neighboring Eastern European countries. The good thing about this fair is that mainly larger companies rather than small or hobby gardeners are present."

For the VOEN company, based at Lake Constance, the trade fair presence was marked by the reorientation of the Polish sales team. Barbara Mocha retired a few months ago and has now been replaced by Michael and Mikolay Osowski, the two sons of a leading Polish cherry producer. In terms of product range, there have been some improvements to the already established protection solutions (e.g. overwintering systems). The AntiFrost frost control systems also attracted great interest at the TSW from the trade fair audience. Fausboell: "Similar to many other European growing countries, Polish fruit growing is struggling with the effects of climate change, which is reflected in a high demand for protection solutions for high-quality fruit crops."

More exhibitors, stable visitor numbers
The Austrian company Europlast Ltd was also present. The internationally active industry supplier presented new and tried-and-tested products in the field of plastic containers and transport packaging. "In particular, the focus lay on CTX MS box for apples and on the CTS large crate for pears and soft fruit," says Sylwester Samojlo, who represented the company on both days of the fair. "Compared to last year's edition, the TSW 2024 was 20 percent larger. However, the number of visitors was about the same," Samojlo summarizes.
