Ups and downs of the Peruvian blueberry campaign:

Camposol, Hortifrut Perú, Beta, Agrovision and Cerro Prieto lead exports

The 2023-2024 Peruvian blueberry campaign has seen its share of highs and lows. As per Fresh Cargo Peru's report, from week 24 to 52, Peru has dispatched 11,604 containers of blueberries, with a net weight of 169,412 tons. This marks a 32% decrease from the previous campaign.

Of these shipments, 96.5% were transported by sea, showing a 34% drop from the last cycle, while 3.5% were air freighted, a 217% increase. The total FOB value of exports stands at US$ 817,038,588.

The North American market is the primary recipient of Peruvian blueberries, accounting for 55% of the shipments. Europe follows with 29%, Asia with 15%, Latin America with 0.6%, and the Middle East with 0.4%.

La Libertad leads the producing regions within Peru, contributing 50% of the total exports. Lambayeque, Ica, Lima, Áncash, and Piura follow with 18%, 13%, 8%, 7%, and 3% respectively.

The 'Top 5' exporters of Peruvian blueberries are Camposol SA (15%), Hortifrut Perú SAC (11%), Complejo Agroindustrial Beta (8%), Agrovision Perú SAC (7%), and Agrícola Cerro Prieto (6%). The leading importers include Camposol Fresh (11%), Hortifrut Import (8%), Naturipe Avocado Farms LLC (5%), Alpine Fresh Inc (5%), and Driscolls (4%).
