Monoprix to open first Belgian store near Brussels
Casino is expanding its city-centre supermarket concept Monoprix to Belgium. The French retail group plans to open its first shop - through a franchisee - in Waterloo as a spearhead of its European expansion ambitions. Master franchiser Transversale obtained a location permit from the municipality near Brussels last month, Belgian newspapers De Tijd and L'Echo report. An exact opening date is not yet known.

Amazon's logistics workers in Spain plan Cyber Monday walk-outs
Spanish union CCOO called on 20,000 warehouse and delivery workers at Amazon's local unit to stage a one-hour strike on each shift on November 27, a date known by retailers as 'Cyber Monday,' and the same on the following day to demand better wages and working conditions.
