The organizers are taking a positive view of Anuga 2023:

Sustainable solutions, new partnerships and a better mood than before the pandemic

According to several exhibitors, this year's Anuga, the world's leading trade fair for food and beverages, was in part better than before Corona. "People are approaching each other more and are happy to be able to get into personal contact with each other again. In addition, the audience is also even more international than it already is," they say. The mood was good across the board. Only the traffic situation in Cologne caused minor complications at times. On Saturday and Sunday, some participants were also positively surprised by the large number of visitors. Several participants said that this year's Anuga was even better than in the period before the pandemic. Furthermore, the market situation seems to be gradually stabilizing again.

"Anuga, the world's most important and largest trade fair for food and beverages, remains undisputed at the top and showed for five days that it is the place-to-be for the sector. In figures, the strong participation is expressed as follows: With around 140,000 trade visitors from 200 countries and some 7,900 exhibitors from 118 countries, the world's leading trade show exceeded all forecasts. The foreign share on the exhibitor side was 94 percent and on the visitor side at a record level of 80 percent," report the organizers.

They also say: "The exhibiting companies particularly praised the high quality of the trade visitors. The who's who from the retail and foodservice sectors came to Cologne for the leading global trade fair. Of the major food retailers, all the relevant players were represented: Amazon, Aeon Co, Aldi, Auchan, Carrefour, Coop, Cosco Wholesale, Colruyt Group, Lidl & Kaufland, Metro, Mercadona, Migros, Rewe, Spar and Walmart. In terms of visitors, the strongest European countries included the United Kingdom, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Turkey. Outside Europe, Brazil, China, Japan, Korea and the U.S. were among the most represented nations."

The next Anuga will be held Oct. 4-8, 2025.
