In the Joypurhat district of Bangladesh, a total of 80,000 tons of potatoes are stored in 19 cold storages. There is a demand of 40,000 tons of potato in the local consumer level. This means that, after meeting this demand, 40,000 tons of potato will be surplus in the district.
The Ministry of Commerce in the country has fixed potato prices. Wholesale price are at Tk 26-27 per kg and maximum retail price of potato at Tk 35-36.
