Recently, the market for cold-stored apples in Shandong has been weak, the price in the Penglai market has fallen, and other markets have remained flat. SCI information shows that customers mainly purchase low-priced goods, and there are few transactions of high-priced goods. In Shaanxi, there are not many apples in cold storage, and the transactions are fewer, so customers start to focus on early-ripening apples.
In terms of inventory, the inventory of apples in cold storage in Shandong was 437,400 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 29.94%. The inventory of apples in cold storage in Shaanxi was 23,600 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 45.87%. The inventory of cold-stored apples nationwide was 461,100 tons, a year-on-year decrease of 33.27%. The amount of apples sold from cold storage nationwide has increased month-on-month, close to the level of last year.
As the Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching, most of the cold storage warehouses start shipment, and the supply will be sent to the market one after another. Therefore, the shipment volume has rebounded significantly recently. It is expected that the shipment volume will drop after the festival. It is understood that merchants are optimistic about the Mid-Autumn Festival market this year earlier, and the supply prepared in the early stage is relatively sufficient, so the recent purchase volume is not large.
In terms of early-ripening apples, Shandong Gala bagged in paper ushered in a peak supply. Affected by the excessive rainfall in the early stage of bag removal, many Gala had certain quality problems. Hongjiangjun began to supply the market sporadically, and the quality is better this year.
In Shaanxi, the acquisition of bagged Gala and Yellow Gala is coming to an end. At this stage, the Shaanxi market mainly orders early-ripening Fuji. This year, the order price of early-ripening Fuji is high, and the number of customers who order is relatively larger and also the price is higher.
In general, with the gradual launch of new apples in large numbers, the hype surrounding production reduction has come to an end. The recent consumption has been poor, and the amount of apples sold from cold storage is the lowest in three years. If the current consumption level is maintained, the spot price of apples in the new quarter is likely to start higher before falling again.
