Pinnacle Fresh have been developing the Dracula citrus brand for quite a few years now, it started around 6 years ago with Dracula Blood oranges going to the US for the Halloween season. Since that time, it has grown into a whole Dracula Citrus family going to many markets around the globe.

“The Dracula brand really took off in the US with blood oranges and after a couple of years we added mandarins at the request of the retailers, since then we have introduced Cara Cara, Navel Oranges, tangelo and lemons to the brand," explains Daniel Newport from Pinnacle Fresh.

The US remains the biggest market for the brand, but Pinnacle Fresh have started selling it in Australia, UK, Germany, Canada, New Zealand and throughout Asia.

2022 season

“We are around halfway through the Navel season and it has been quite challenging in terms of quality and sizing which is putting pressure on the volumes of premium fruit. We will export less Navels under the Dracula brand to the US this season due to these issues, but with extremely high shipping costs and long voyages this is not such a bad thing

"There is good news on the horizon. Dracula Blood Oranges and Dracula Baby Mandarins are our two most important members of the family are looking very promising on quality and volumes. Harvest had just started on both varieties and we plan to increase volumes on both these varieties breaking our 2021 record for volume exported."
