A tour of France by local fruits and vegetables

France is the third biggest producer of fruits and vegetables in the EU behind Italy and Spain, according to the anti-waste association Foodologic France. Every year, 15 million tonnes of fruit and vegetables are grown in France, with almost half of that, seven million tonnes, being potatoes.

But there is more to the country than the humble pomme de terre. Almost every corner of the country has its own speciality fruit or vegetable. We chart these in our map below.
