Taiwanese mangoes officially launched in New Zealand

On June 17, the Auckland Office held a mango promotion conference from Taiwan, China, to showcase the high-quality fresh mangoes that were directly delivered to New Zealand by air from Taiwan that week, and to promote the development of Taiwanese agricultural products in the New Zealand market.

Chen Yongshao, the director of the Auckland office, said that Taiwan's reputation as the kingdom of fruits is definitely well-deserved, but for friends who live overseas, how can they taste Taiwan's sweet fruits? In addition to visiting Taiwan to taste on the spot, another way is to export Taiwanese fruits to the international market.

Chen pointed out that Taiwan's agricultural technology is superb, and the development of high-value crops and fruits has been well received in overseas markets in recent years. Especially with the development of cold chain technology and market, Taiwan's agricultural products are also sold farther and farther; for example, in the first quarter of this year, the United States and Japan have become the first and second-largest markets for Taiwan's agricultural exports, respectively. The scale of Taiwan's agricultural exports to the United States and Japan has surpassed that of mainland China.

Chen mentioned that Taiwanese mangoes were in New Zealand in a timely and smooth manner, and the important promoters included "Songji Fruits and Vegetables", the largest importer of fresh fruits in New Zealand and related distribution channels; and in the process of contact between New Zealand importers and Taiwan fruit growers, in particular, the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand plays a key role in matchmaking and connection, and successfully connects the business opportunities and networks between Taiwan and New Zealand.

Li Yunhan, president of the Taiwan Chamber of Commerce in New Zealand, said that the chamber is very happy to introduce the good things about Taiwan and New Zealand to each other and promote a positive business cycle of mutual benefit. It is believed that this is also a concrete response to the founding purpose of the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership(CPTPP).
